Shot chart

Every shot attempt, computed from the league's play-by-play coordinates. Sabres attack left, Blue Jackets attack right, all periods folded onto one rink. Attempts are plotted where the league recorded them, so a mark in a team's own end would be an attempt logged from there (none in this game); 1 empty-net goal is drawn as a diamond. Boxscore shots on goal: BUF 26, CBJ 23.

BUF in red CBJ in blue goal empty-net goal shot on goal missed blocked Sabres 26 shots on goal (3 goals, 14 missed, 16 blocked) attacking left; Blue Jackets 23 shots on goal (6 goals, 8 missed, 8 blocked) attacking right.

Attempt share by period

Sabres took 59.0% of the shot attempts, and 58.0% of the 69 attempts taken at 5-on-5. An attempt is a goal, a shot on goal, a miss or a blocked shot; CF% is the share of them belonging to the Blue Jackets and FF% their share of the ones that were not blocked, so the Sabres hold the remainder. All situations unless the 5-on-5 figure is named. All 32 teams
